“One can’t lose hope: seriously injured Vitalii from Kherson Oblast underwent a rehabilitation course provided by the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation

This summer, Vitalii, a resident of the Kherson Oblast, stepped on a landmine. The seriously wounded man crawled across the field for several dozen meters before people saw him. Behind are surgeries and prosthetics. The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation provided Vitalii with a course of physical rehabilitation and psychological recovery at a sanatorium in Transcarpathia.
“This rehabilitation is a big deal, only a warm thermal pool is worth a lot! I would like to thank a Foundation that helps civilians. I found out about it during prosthetics and called. After all, one can never lose hope. Life goes on”, shares Vitalii.
As the head physician of the sanatorium, Snizhana Chebotariova notes, since the beginning of the Russian aggression, many people have undergone psychological rehabilitation and treatment provided by the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation.
Unfortunately, throughout 2024 we are noticing a trend towards an increase in the number of patients after severe mine and blast injuries. The number of patients with amputated limbs has increased, both adults and, unfortunately, children. After rehabilitation and psychological assistance, everyone notes good results — a reduction in pain symptoms, improved limb mobility, and psycho-emotional state," the doctor emphasizes.
As part of the Treatment and Rehabilitation of Wounded Adults program, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation provides assistance to residents of Ukraine who have suffered as a result of enemy shelling: this is treatment, rehabilitation, and psychological assistance. The Fund has provided treatment and rehabilitation assistance to over 11,000 Ukrainians.
