"We are grateful that the rescue was not interrupted": Rinat Akhmetov Foundation's ambulances for Okhmatdyt will provide help to newborns
On July 8, 2024, Okhmatdyt National Children's Specialised Hospital was damaged during a massive Russian missile attack. On the third day after the hostile attack, Rinat Akhmetov Foundation handed over two modern ambulances designed to save newborns to the hospital, and they are already starting to respond to calls.
"After the rocket attack, our office was saved, but the vehicle was damaged beyond repair. So when we found out that Rinat Akhmetov Foundation had provided us with two cars at once, we were amazed, touched and grateful. So quickly! We can continue our work!" says Larysa Nikonova, head of the neonatal intensive care unit at Okhmatdyt.
This unit includes a neonatal resuscitation team that deals with complex medical cases, including malignancies and congenital diseases of infants. Therefore, they need a high-quality vehicle to transport them.
"This car absolutely meets all modern requirements. It has everything: defibrillators, monitors, infusion warmers, and an artificial ventilation device. I am sincerely grateful to Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and those people who help us not to interrupt the care of our most vulnerable category - newborn babies," the doctor emphasises.
This is not the first time the Foundation has helped medical institutions in Ukraine with ambulances. In particular, in 2019, 200 Ambulances for Ukraine project was implemented, which is the largest private charitable project in the field of emergency medicine since independence.
Since 2014, the Foundation has provided treatment and rehabilitation assistance to more than 11,000 Ukrainians.
