Rinat Akhmetov Foundation presents a report on the implementation of the Phase I
November 12-14, a meeting for members of regional councils on TB and HIV/AIDS was held in Kiev. The purpose of the meeting was to build partnerships with non-governmental organizations in the context of the Global Fund grants. During the meeting the representatives of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation presented a report on the implementation of the program to address TB epidemic in Ukraine: realization of Phase I Round 9 "Stop TB in Ukraine" under the Global Fund financing.
Maria Makovetska, Head of Advocacy, Communication and Social Mobilization team at "Stop TB in Ukraine" Program of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation for "Development of Ukraine" highlighted the strategic goals and objectives of the Program, as well as reported on the successful implementation of the project. In particular, her presentation reflected the issues of laboratory system strengthening, enhancement of the monitoring and evaluation system, improvement of the treatment and social support to patients, as well as the results of a broad information campaign to combat tuberculosis.Also, the report includes Program indicators performance at the end of June 2013. Thus, for the period from the beginning of 2013 and to 30 June 2013, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation received the highest overall rating for "Stop TB in Ukraine" Program implementation - A1, from the Global Fund.
