Rinat Akhmetov Foundation starts trainings as part of its «Mentorship» project

30.05.2016

On May 30, in Mariupol, Rinat Akhmetov Foundation started training the team of psychologists and social workers, who will become the trainers in the "Mentorship" project. The three-day training is conducted by "One Hope" Charitable Foundation, whose methodology of working with children is successfully being implemented in Ukraine during the last 8 years.

"The goal of the course is to prepare good trainers for future mentors. Provide complete information on who the coaches are, what their main functions consist in, and teach the peculiarities of working with orphans. Only specially trained and prepared people will become mentors after careful selection; they will be provided with psychological consultations to work with children from orphanages and boarding schools. The main goal of a mentor is to help a child to find his/her way in the independent life outside the orphanage", – Viktoriia Chagalian, "Mentorship" Project Manager, shares.

"Mentorship" project of Rinat Akhmetov Foundation provides for development of a child's potential, self-confidence, determination of life goals, formation of human relationships and skills in various fields. The mentors will be working in Sviatohirsk and Mariupol with orphans from 12 to 18 year old by three directions: assistance with studies, career guidance and socialization.

"The core focus of "Mentorship" project is children and their needs. We carefully select personnel and train professionals, so that future mentors, psychologists and social workers become a great team that is ready to help orphans and children, deprived of parental care, in education, socialization and career guidance", – Viktoriia Chagalian said.
