“The child will speak”: 4-year-old Sofiia from Kamianske received hearing aids provided by Rinat Akhmetov Foundation

Little Sofiia had difficulty adapting to kindergarten. An examination confirmed that the girl has a hearing impairment. Recently, 4-year-old Sofiia from Kamianske received hearing aids from Rinat Akhmetov Foundation that are adjusted to the child’s needs.
“We are very grateful to the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation for their help. I don’t know how we would have got out of this situation on our own. First of all, thanks to the hearing aids, Sofiia will learn to speak. She could not hear some sounds and could not reproduce them – even I did not always understand her. With the aids, she will also have time to prepare for school,” says Sofiia’s mother Yuliia.
The family also plans to help the child develop her talent. After all, Sofiia is an artistic girl who loves to dance and delight her family by singing with a toy microphone.
Iryna Bannyk, audiologist, hearing aid specialist at the Hearing Centre, emphasises that Sofiika will wear state-of-the-art devices. They not only adjust the volume, but also allow you to choose a programme for a specific acoustic situation – noise, music, etc. As a result, the girl will be able to hear sounds she could not identify before. Classes with specialists will help develop correct speech.
“We have been cooperating with the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation for a long time. You provide not only relevant but also timely assistance to families. It is extremely important that children start wearing hearing aids at a young age. Thanks to them, the child’s speech is smoother and he or she is more quickly involved in society,” the audiologist explains.
