Help under fire: residents of the frontline town of Siversk received food packages from the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation
The road to Siversk, Donetsk region, is being shelled relentlessly by the enemy. So is the town itself, which is just a few kilometers from the frontline... However, many people stay here. Recently, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation has sent them essential food packages.
"Of course, we need help. I live with my grandmother, she is 90 years old. And I will be 70 soon. It's loud at our place now. We are hiding... Sometimes in the basement, sometimes in other places. Thank you for not forgetting people in need," says one of the women who received the food parcel.
People do not hide the fact that they have been living from day to day for two years. Everyone is aware that every moment can be the last. And everyone cares about safety as much as possible. At the very least, they have set up cellars or basements because they have to spend most of their time there.
"If they hadn't brought humanitarian aid, we would have been lost," admits one local resident. Others echo the same opinion.
Another battle breaks out nearby. The team that delivered the food parcels to the people is hiding in the basement of one of the high-rise buildings...

Each set received by the residents of Siversk contains long-term storage products: pasta, sugar, salt, flour, cereals, canned beans, sunflower oil, stewed meat, pate, and biscuits.
Since the start of the full-scale war, the Foundation has sent nearly 328,000 food parcels to residents of the Donetsk region and those who have temporarily evacuated from the region.
Since 2014, the Foundation has provided 13 million food parcels to Ukrainians. Over this time, more than 18 million people have benefited from the assistance provided by the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, SCM businesses, and Shakhtar Football Club.
The assistance is provided under the Rinat Akhmetov Saving Lives programme.
