312th column of the Rinat Akhmetov Center arrived in Mariupol

02.04.2018

Today, on April 2, the motor transport column of the Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center arrived in Mariupol. 8 trucks delivered 160 tons of humanitarian aid to the distribution center.

People will be able to obtain survival kits at stationary issuing points organized by the Center in the government-controlled territory. Aid for 46 settlements of the “grey zone” will be delivered by the mobile delivery teams. They will bring food to the villages and settlements, which were especially badly damaged in a result of the armed hostilities – to places where it is especially hard for people to live today.

“The food packages will be issued since April 4. Aid will be given to disabled people, large families, children, old people, single parents” – said Mykhailo Katerynchak, Head of the “Aid to the Population” project of the Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center. – Now the Center delivers products to 85 settlements of the “grey zone”. Here, people survive in inhuman conditions, suffer from a lack of drinking water and frequent blackouts. Half of villages and settlements have all pharmacies and stores closed for a long time. But the main problem is the acute deficiency of food. For many civilians in Donbas, the assistance of the Humanitarian Center is the only opportunity to survive.”

In April, the Humanitarian Center will issue about 20 thousand survival kits, which will be formed from products produced in Ukraine. The Rinat Akhmetov Center continues helping those who are now in particularly difficult situation, such as children, elderly and disabled people.

During the Humanitarian Center work, more than 12 million food packages have been issued on both sides of the contact line. For more information about the assistance issuance please call the Center’s hotline 0-800-509-001.
