“Children here forget about pain and remember their dreams”: Svitlana Tarabarova visits children affected by war as part of Rinat Akhmetov Foundation's Blogger Camp
Svitlana Tarabarova, a singer, composer and songwriter, music producer and actress, came to the Transcarpathian region to support children who are recovering, improving their health and receiving psychological help at the autumn session of Rinat Akhmetov Foundation's Blogger Camp. The camp is organized for children aged 10-16 who suffered from the war in Ukraine to help young people overcome the trauma of war and look to the future with confidence. Svitlana held motivational meetings for the participants of the shift, full of useful advice, singing and hugs.
“There are children from different parts of Ukraine in the Camp. Some have lost loved ones, some have been injured, some have witnessed incredibly painful events. The children receive psychological help and more. They are recovering, forgetting about the pain and remembering their dreams. I am very impressed and want to make a low bow and thank the entire team, the tutors who put their hearts into the children, save them with their warmth and attention. After all, you never know when your word will become a landmark for someone's fate. And I thank the children for having them. For the future of Ukraine,” said Svitlana.
The singer, who is a mother of three, spoke to the Camp participants about the importance of self-belief, self-development, and why it is important to become a professional in your field, and not just strive for popularity, which can quickly pass. Svitlana spoke about bullying on social media and how to respond to it, and demonstrated practical exercises to relieve stress. Together with younger children, the star created a song. The children showed her a surprise - a flash mob they had prepared. In gratitude, Svitlana Tarabarova presented them with her new song. A video was filmed for social media to motivate the boys and girls to express themselves.
“I think the most useful thing you can do for children is to show them how important they are to you. This is attention. Asking: how are you? How are you doing? What do you like to do? Guide them, tell them how to take a positive step, how to feel less aggression, how to release their negative emotions, how not to quarrel with their peers, and how to find a common language. This is very important for the children's future,” believes Svitlana Tarabarova.
As part of Rinat Akhmetov to Children. Peaceful Recreation for Children of Ukraine project, children affected by the war in Ukraine take part in the Blogger Camp, including boys and girls who have been returned to their home country after being illegally taken to Russia; children who lost their parents because of the war; children from foster families and family-type orphanages; children of guardians and adoptive parents; children from regions where active fighting is ongoing, as well as those affected by the fighting, and children from the de-occupied territories.
Thanks to the project, nearly 5,000 children from all over the country had a rest, improved their health, and received psychological assistance.
