Rinat Akhmetov's address on the occasion of the Miner's Day and the Donetsk City Day

Miner’s Day is a very important holiday for our country. This is the day of pride for the courageous people who are unlimitedly dedicated to their cause. This is the day of pride for the people who have become a symbol of mining profession.

Today I want to address all the miners, and say many thanks for your heroism. For your reliability and responsibility. For the fact that you extract coal that everyone needs, needs always. I want to thank you for performing a feat every day, for risking your life to bring heat and light to every home.

I am proud to have grown up in a mining family. I'm proud that our football club, supported by the whole of Donbass, bears the name Shakhtar.

Dear citizens of Donetsk and fellow countrymen, today is a double holiday for us. Please accept my heartfelt greetings on the Donetsk City Day. I wish our homeland peace and prosperity!
