FC Shakhtar President Rinat Akhmetov congratulates all football fans with New Year’s holiday season

Dear Shakhtar fans and dear friends,

The eventful, interesting and emotion-filled year of 2019 is almost over. We will remember it for many colourful events, and it will undoubtedly take an important place in the history of our club and in our memory. In the outgoing year, Shakhtar has done the double by winning the Ukrainian Championship and the Cup for the third time in a row, and reached the knockout phase of the UEFA Europa League, thus remaining the only representative of Ukraine in European club tournaments.

As ever, we remained true to our traditions in 2019, as we were ambitious and continued to grow and become better. Shakhtar welcomed its new head coach and several young and talented players. I believe they will make our club stronger and contribute to our future achievements.

We set the most ambitious goals for the coming decade. As always, Shakhtar wants to win every game and every tournament. As always, we want to lift the most prestigious trophies high above our heads and have only gold medals in our hands, much to your delight, our most loyal and best fans.

I am confident that our players and coaches will do everything in 2020 to please all of us with beautiful games and bring unforgettable impressions. Let the next year be a year of resounding victories and new achievements. Let the next year be a year of pride for our club.
