The mobile teams of psychologists of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation provided support to social workers, educators, and healthcare professionals in overcoming war trauma
The mobile teams of psychologists of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation continue to fulfill their mission, helping Ukrainians maintain their mental and emotional well-being during the armed Russian aggression. Recently, group lectures on the topic “How to cope with War trauma” have been held in Kramatorsk, Pavlograd, Kamіаnskе and Kryvyi Rih.
“War trauma is dangerous because, if you don't seek professional help in time, it can turn into a complex of issues that are challenging to resolve later. Breathing exercises, grounding techniques and art therapy methods can help to cope. It’s crucial to remain proactive during this time,” explains Tetiana Kovalska, a psychologist of the Foundation's mobile teams.
In September and October, such sessions were organized for people who work extensively with others, including social workers, educators and medical staff. Among the attendees of the psychological lectures were also IDPs from frontline Pokrovsk, now residing in Kamianske.
The psychologists of the mobile teams of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation use various tools to deal with trauma. Some techniques help individuals stabilize themselves quickly in acute situations. Others are aimed at helping another person, ensuring that support is given in a way that does not unintentionally worsen his or the helper’s own condition.
The Foundation's psychological assistance project was launched in 2014. In 2022, mobile teams of psychologists joined it. Over 1,075,000 Ukrainians have already received psychological help from the Foundation during the war. To achieve this, 250 psychologists have been trained by the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation in the War Trauma course. Read more: https://civilvoicesmuseum.org/projects/golosy-myrnyh-travma-viyny
