"I'm getting better": a seriously injured resident of Kharkiv completed a rehabilitation course from Rinat Akhmetov Foundation

23.07.2024

Tetiana Alioshyna came under Russian shelling in Kharkiv in the spring of 2022. As a result of multiple injuries, she has no feeling in her legs. Recently, the 55-year-old woman underwent a physical rehabilitation course from Rinat Akhmetov Foundation at a specialised centre near her place of residence.

"I am very grateful to Rinat Akhmetov Foundation. You are helping everyone who has suffered. Here, in the rehabilitation centre, I am being treated all day long with a break for lunch. I am getting better,’ says Tetiana.

She was out on the street when she heard a loud noise and lost consciousness. When she woke up, she was unable to move. The injuries she received during the enemy attack were severe, in particular, the nerve responsible for movement was damaged. Since then, the woman has been partially paralysed. However, she is doing everything possible to recover.

"This centre has a lot of exercises to restore motor skills. There are various massages, such as vacuum, vibration massage, etc. There are also many devices that help you learn to walk again. For example, using a walker, I am already able to tighten my leg. It's harder than work,’ she admits.

Tetiana uses every minute to exercise. Even in her spare time, she pedals on an exercise bike. She believes that her dream of walking again will come true. Doctors say it is possible.
