“A Very Well-Timed Event”: Psychologists of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation Held a Consultation Session for Medical Staff in Kherson

17.04.2023

Mobile teams of psychologists from the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation have delivered a consultation session on the topic How to overcome stress during the war to medical staff of the A. Tropin and O. Tropina Municipal Clinical Hospital in Kherson. The Foundation’s psychologists have been travelling around the country for many months and providing help to those who need it the most.

Despite the hardships of life under occupation, the hospital’s staff did not stop helping people. All the medical staff held together and believed that the Armed Forces of Ukraine would liberate Kherson.

“Many health workers require psychological support, and psychological exhaustion is observed in people. This is a very important aspect of our activity. We are very happy to have you,” says Leonid Remyga, general director of the hospital, about the work of the Foundation’s psychologists.

“I called my colleagues to the lecture, who, as I see, are a little nervous at work. This event is a very well-timed one. War is a difficult situation. Not everyone’s psyche is geared to withstand all these events,” adds Oleksandr Chebotaryov, medical director and head of the hospital’s X-ray department.

The project of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation for psychological assistance to war victims was launched in 2014. Last year, mobile teams of psychologists joined it. In 2023, the Foundation’s psychologists also helped doctors, educators and high-school students.

Since 2014, more than 145,000 Ukrainians have received psychological assistance from the Foundation. To that end, 250 psychologists were trained by the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation in the War Trauma course.
