Over 60 thousand hemo-boxes are to be transferred and delivered to the Ministry of Health of Ukraine by Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation

Under the war conditions Ukraine is hard up for donated blood, making it possible to save life and health of the wounded. Thousands of our compatriots all over Ukraine donate their blood daily, nevertheless, health care establishments still lack equipment for blood processing and storing. Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation has bought 63 thousand hemo-boxes for the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and will transfer and deliver them to the ministry in the days ahead. It is vital equipment, used not only to store donated blood but also to filter it, deleucocyting it, as leucocytes are disease precursors and it is unsafe to administer unfiltered blood transfusion to the injured and wounded.

The hemo-boxes, purchased by the Foundation, will be transferred and deliver to hospitals and blood transfusion centers today. The assistance is provided within the program “Rinat Akhmetov. Life Rescue” For 16 years the Foundation has helped 8 million people to survive, including 3.5 million rescuees at Donbas.
