A famous choreographer teaches orphaned children to dance
Polina Ishchenko, a famous dance coach, held a master class in Sviatohirsk, Donetsk region. The class was arranged specially for children from orphanages, who take part in the "Mentorship" project of Rinat Akhmetov Foundation. Teenagers not only mastered the basic moves, but also learned to dance in couples.
"We really liked everything! The choreographer helped us, the dance turned out simple, but beautiful. Previously, we could not dance with a partner, our moves were unsynchronized, but she taught us how to do it better", – Ivan Symonenko shared his impressions.
Polina Ishchenko said that children are very good learners, especially the participants of the master class, as they are preparing for the graduation, and this lesson will be very useful for them.
"We arrived with great mood to teach children something new. And of course, we wanted to prepare them for a very important event in their life – the prom. Children should understand that it's not difficult, it can be fun and cognitive for them. The main goal is teaching children to cope with some small obstacles. Dancing is the same thing as life, just a small one. These children are more open to knowledge, they want to discover something new, they are not so spoiled by attention. They absorb all information like sponges. It is evident that they are interested, that their eyes are burning despite some difficulties", – Ishchenko noted.
Natalia Baryshpolska, the Head of "Say No To Orphanhood!" program of Rinat Akhmetov Foundation says that these events are aimed at helping children not only to disclose their potential, but also get prepared to adult life.
"Rinat Akhmetov Foundation is helping children to get ready for adult life through "Mentorship" project. Children can open their potential, try something new and, most importantly, seeing the example of successful and accomplished people, they will understand that you can achieve everything you want, if you make an effort", – Baryshpolska summarized.
