Faces of civilians and the stories of heroism and pain: a unique exhibition of the Humanitarian Center opened in Pavlohrad

18.05.2018

An exhibition of the Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center opened in Pavlohrad with unique exhibits telling about daily assistance to the peaceful inhabitants of Donbas living on the frontline territory.

The exposition opened on May 18 in the People's Museum of History and Labor Glory of "DTEK PAVLOGRADUGOL" tells about the activities of the largest humanitarian mission in Ukraine, which is the Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center. This is one of six permanent exhibitions represented in the museums of the SCM Group enterprises.

As the specialist of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation program Tatyana Nikitina stated, the mission of the Humanitarian Center became truly historic: "The Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center has been providing assistance to civilians affected by the armed conflict in Donbas for almost four years. More than a million people were saved during the work of the Center! Food packages are issued and assistance is provided for treatment and rehabilitation every single day. The exposition of the Humanitarian Center in Pavlohrad tells about this".

In her opinion, a photobook  "Donbas and Civilians" is one of the unique exhibits of the exhibition.

It is about a war that has many faces, but the most numerous among them are faces of the Civilians. Long suffering faces of the elderly people and children. " Donbas and Civilians" tells 11 stories about heroism shown by civilians affected by the armed conflict. It isessential to strengthen the voices of these people and to make them  heard. The photobook, published by the Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center, was handed over to the representatives of international missions, embassies and the media. To ensure the war stops being a faceless death machine, and society doesnot remain indifferent to the problems of the peaceful residents of  Donbas. Indifferent to our common pain and tragedy", said Nikitina.

The exhibition materials tell about the most tragic days experienced by the civilians and volunteers of the Center, the unique role of the Humanitarian Center in the history of Ukraine. It will help the DTEK employees, their children and city residents receive reliable information about the amount of important and necessary assistance at this difficult time.

The pain of fellow countrymen, who have been living along the contact line for four years and who need assistance and support, is close to the miners of Pavlohrad. Many families from Donetsk and Lugansk regions have found shelter on the Pavlograd land with the help of the Center.
