Peaceful summer for Donbas children: registration is resumed

22.06.2015

Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center resumed the registration for "Peaceful summer for Donbas children" program. Earlier the registration was suspended due to the great number of filed applications. But after the adoption of new rules for contact line crossing, that imply the prohibition of entry and departure of public transportation from non-government-controlled areas of Donbas, many parents of children from ATO area refused to participate in the program. Therefore, the Humanitarian Center resumed accepting applications.

It bears reminding that the program is aimed for children, residing in non-government-controlled areas of Donbas, and displaced children that live in government-controlled areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. To confirm the child's place of residence parents shall provide the child's statement of good health, issued on the form on institution located in ATO area (for children living in NGCA) or certificate of displaced person (for IDP's children). Age limitations: 8-14 years old

Children will spend their vacation in Fakel summer camp (Berdiansk), located on the coast of Azov Sea, in the greenbelt. The camp hosts children from all the territory of Ukraine, which will allow Donbas children to make new friends and broaden their social circle. The children will be accompanied by professional educators, counsellors, and a team of psychologists who will work with them and through outdoor games and art therapy will help to cope with fears and anxiety caused by the war. To get maximum effective interaction with children, the staff of the camp is having special trainings, provided by Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center's psychologists.
