29.10.2020

On 28 October, jointly with DTEK, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation transfered an advanced ventilator manufactured in France to Kamianka-Buzka Central District Hospital (Lviv Oblast). The equipment was delivered within the framework of the project Fighting COVID-19 in Ukraine, which became part of the large program Rinat Akhmetov – Saving Lives.

"There are many great doctors in Ukraine, but often only modern ventilators can save patients with severe COVID-19. Before the pandemic began, many Ukrainian hospitals simply did not have them. "Rinat Akhmetov financed UAH 300 million to help the country. This is the largest contribution made by one philanthropist to help Ukrainian state medicine. The purchase of 204 high-end ventilators was significant in rendering the assistance. Almost 160 pieces of equipment have already been transferred to medical professionals in main hospitals in 12 regions of Ukraine,"  Natalya Yemchenko, a member of the Supervisory Board of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, said.

Oleh Tarashchuk, General Director of DTEK Zakhidenergo, spoke about the scale of assistance provided to the region within the framework of the project Fighting COVID-19 in Ukraine.

"We have transferred 35 thousand rapid tests to  diagnose the virus, as well as protective overalls for regional medical professionals. Lviv Oblast received two high-end ventilators from the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and DTEK. Today we are transferring the fourth ventilator to Kamianka-Buzka Hospital, " Oleh Tarashchuk said.

Chief physician of Kamianka-Buzka Central District Hospital, Roman Kucherepa, thanked the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and DTEK for their support.

"Thank you very much for listening to our needs. I am certain that this device will save more than one life, including those when the pandemic ends," Roman Kucherepa said.

Khrystyna Zamula, Chairman of Kamianka-Buzka Regional State Administration, noted that the equipment that the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation transfers to doctors is extremely vital.

"In Lviv Oblast, the coronavirus situation has deteriorated. In particular, Kamianka-Buzka District is in the orange zone. Medical support in these conditions is very important. Today we have a reason to express our gratitude to socially responsible businesses for good partnership and long-term relationships. Thank you for delivering the fourth ventilator. These devices make crucial contribution to the development of our hospital's infrastructure,"  Khrystyna Zamula said.

Since the beginning of the coronavirus epidemic, state hospitals in Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Ternopil, Rivne, Zakarpattia and Kharkiv Oblasts, as well as in Kyiv, have received modern ventilators from the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation.
