Medications for severely ill Donbas children: how to receive them?

2,040 packages with special medications have already been received by Donbas children who suffer severe chronic diseases. The medications were provided as part of targeted assistance program of Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center called "Medications for Children".           

Applications from parents are coming on the Centre's hotline. During the entire program operation period children received:  677 sets of insulin and test-stripes; 775 sets of anticonvulsants; 588 sets of asthma medications.

"Medications for Children" program was launched in October 2015. The goal is to provide Donbas children having serious chronic diagnoses with special drugs that are suitable for them exclusively.  The applications are accepted via the Humanitarian Center's hotline: 0800 509 001.

Who can be provided with this kind of assistance from Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center?

All children from 0 to 18 years old, both living in non-government-controlled areas of Donbas and internally displaced children on the peaceful territory of Donbas. 

What diseases are the medications provided for?

  • diabetes mellitus
  • bronchial asthma
  • convulsive disorder and epileptic syndrome with the following diagnoses:
  • epilepsy (of any form)
  • cerebral palsy
  • hydrocephalus
  • traumatic brain injuries and their consequences
  • central nervous system injuries
  • encephalitides and meningitides (and their forms)
  • infections (of any form)
  • brain tumours (of any form)

How to receive the medications?

  1. Call the Humanitarian Center's hotline (0800 509 001) and leave an application
  2.  Answer the call of the Humanitarian Center's employee and find out what documents should be submitted and what pharmacy can the medicine be received at
  3.  Get medications at the pharmacy upon presenting the necessary package of documents

Where to receive the medications?

Medications are issued in the pharmacies of Artemivsk, Kramatorsk and Mariupol. Medications can be also received there by relatives or friends of families with children, living in non-government-controlled areas, by power of attorney.

Each child is provided with pharmaceuticals for three months ahead.
