The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and DTEK delivered two modern ventilators to Kurakhove City Hospital

16.09.2020

Kurakhove City Hospital received two high-quality ventilators made in France from the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and DTEK.

"Rinat Akhmetov financed 300 million UAH to help state hospitals. These funds were used to purchase coronavirus rapid tests, personal protective equipment for doctors, as well as PCR analysers. However, a ventilator is still of utmost importance. It can help save the lives of patients with severe complications from infection. The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation purchased more than 200 ventilators, the first of which were received in March," Natalya Yemchenko, member of the Supervisory Board of the Foundation, said

Stanislav Valantir, General Director of DTEK KurakhoveTPP, noted that the Foundation created the project Fighting COVID-19 in Ukraine for effective work, which became part of the program Rinat Akhmetov – Saving Lives.  This is the largest, most systematic and large-scale private initiative aimed at helping state medical institutions in the fight against coronavirus.

"Ventilators were the most significant equipment Ukrainian doctors required. Despite the shortage of high-quality ventilators, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation managed to buy and bring them to Ukraine. More than half of the devices have been handed over to doctors, and they are already saving the lives of patients with severe complications from coronavirus. This is the cutting-edge equipment," Stanislav Valantir said.

Donetsk Oblast has already received 29 high-quality ventilators from the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation.

Director of Kurakhove City Hospital, Ihor Korchak, expressed his gratitude for the help, noting its importance,

"We are very grateful to the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation for timely delivery of the equipment we needed so much. Unfortunately, the coronavirus pandemic is gaining momentum. This is evidenced by the number of seriously ill patients admitted to hospitals. These devices are priceless, They will save many lives.

City Mayor, Roman Padun, totally agrees with him,

"I would like to express my deep gratitude to the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation for the support that you have constantly provided to us over the years. Ventilators are invaluable gifts.

Fighting COVID-19 in Ukraine is a large-scale project of the Foundation created to help save people's lives. It is implemented under the program Rinat Akhmetov – Saving Lives.

Earlier, Rinat Akhmetov launched 200 Ambulances for Ukraine, which was was implemented as part of this program. Back then, all regional state medical institutions received 200 special vehicles with state-of-the-art military equipment that can get over off-road conditions within the record time of six months.
