Humanitarian aid to Avdiivka residents: volunteers reached the most remote part of the town

10.06.2016

For the first time more than 300 retired people older than 65 living in remote districts of Avdiivka received humanitarian aid from Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center. Despite the shelling nearby, the mobile team volunteers managed to deliver and issue food packages to residents of the town district adjacent to industrial area.

"This part of Avdiivka, called "the old town" by local residents, observes shelling practically every day. Residential houses are located far from the town centre, and people find it difficult and dangerous to come and get humanitarian aid in this situation. The Humanitarian Center decided not to expose people to danger and deliver humanitarian aid to this district despite the shelling", ‒ Oleksandr Vyshniakov, the Humanitarian Center's Director, shared.

Over the entire period of its operation the Center delivered and issued more than 37,000 food packages to Avdiivka civilians.

As of June 10, 2016, Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center issued 8,446,000 adult and children survival kits on both sides of the contact line.
