8 million survival kits are issued by Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center to Donbas civilians

16.05.2016

Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center issued 8,079,000 adult and children food packages for Donbas civilians on both sides of the contact line.

To deliver these large volumes of aid the Humanitarian Center sent 200 truck convoys to Donbas. These are 4,703 twenty-ton trucks that delivered 94,000 tons of food to the Humanitarian Center's logistic warehouses in Donetsk and Mariupol to form survival kits for people.

Food assistance from the Center is provided to the most vulnerable local residents and IDPs in Donbas towns and villages with open fixed issuing points or those visited by volunteers at least once. Over the entire operation period, starting from May 2015, the Center’s food packages were issued to 137,000 people in 425 small settlements on the contact line and in non-government-controlled areas.

"8 million survival kits is a great number of the saved people's lives. We know how much they are needed, how much these packages are expected in Donbas towns, villages and settlements. Every package with humanitarian aid, coming from Rinat Akhmetov to people, contains not only food, but also respect, care, attention and love to each compatriot", –  Rimma Fil, the Humanitarian Center's Coordinator, shares.
