416,000 aid packages are issued to Donbas residents by Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center in September

06.10.2016

416,110 adult and children food packages were delivered to Donbas civilians by Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center in September 2016.

During the month the Center sent 216 twenty-ton trucks with food to logistic warehouses in Donetsk and Mariupol. The survival kits were promptly delivered to the issuing points.

"The main Humanitarian Center's aid recipients are elderly and disabled people. Also the humanitarian aid is regularly provided to eight most vulnerable categories of population, including single parents and large families. It is difficult for them to survive both in towns and remote villages. The Humanitarian Center delivers food to the places that need it the most. And the Center will keep on operating, as long as people need help", – Rimma Fil, the Humanitarian Center's Coordinator, said.

The aid is given out in 28 fixed issuing points in non-government-controlled areas and also by mobile teams in remote districts of the region.

"During September our mobile teams visited more than 50 villages in Amvrosiivka raion, for example, Blahodatne, Olhynske, Kuteinikove and Pokrovka. Despite the broken roads we try to deliver food to the most remote and far away settlements. The infrastructure is destroyed in many of them, there is no work in there places. There are lines of people welcoming our volunteers. These are mainly retired people and mothers with little children", –  Andrii Sanin, the Head of the Center's logistic warehouse at Donbas Arena, shared.

As of October 6, 2016, Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center issued 9,928,000 adult and children survival kits on both sides of the contact line.
