400,000 food packages will be delivered by Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center in May

26.04.2016

In May 2016 Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center is planning to deliver 400,000 food packages for the most vulnerable categories of Donbas population.  This was announced by Rimma Fil, the Humanitarian Center's Coordinator, during the online conference in 'Segodnya Multimedia'.

"Despite the days off in early May, the Humanitarian Center will be working in a prompt delivery mode. During the month it is planned to send 10 truck convoys with 4,500 tons of food to the logistic centres of Donetsk and Mariupol.  This amount of food will be used to form 365,000 adult survival kits and 29,000 packages for babies under 35 months old", ‒ Rimma Fil informed.

In addition to food package stock replenishment in the Center's fixed issuing points, the scheduled trips of convoys will secure the work of mobile teams. The visits are planned to more than 80 settlements in "grey zone" and non-government-controlled areas of Donetsk region. These are Amvrosiivka, Telmanove, Volnovakha, Yasynuvata and Bakhmut raions of Donetsk region, where nearly 10,000 people will be able to get humanitarian aid.

The schedule of mobile teams' trips in May, including the list of dates and settlements that are planned to be visited, will be shortly published on the Humanitarian Center's website

Over the entire operation period mobile teams issued more than 127,000 food packages. As of April 26 Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center issued 7,901,000 survival kits for adult civilians and children on both sides of the contact line.
