3.5 million survival kits were issued by Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center to Donbas civilians

Almost over a year of its operation (since August, 2014) Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center issued 3.5 million food packages to civilians in Donetsk and Luhansk regions and internally displaced people from Donbas.

The required aid was provided to the residents and IDPs of 60 towns in 20 districts of Donbas on both sides of the contact line. Among them there are elderly and disabled people, children, multi-child families and other vulnerable categories of the population.

In NGCA the aid reached 23 towns and 3 districts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Also the assistance was provided to IDPs in 25 towns and 13 districts in the peaceful areas of Donbas. Besides, the food products were received by residents of 12 towns and 4 districts on the contact line. 

All together they delivered 45,500 tons of food to the Humanitarian Center's logistic warehouses in Donetsk and Mariupol that were used to form food packages. To deliver these large volumes of humanitarian aid, the Center needed 2,321 heavy-duty trucks.

In June 2015 Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center launched a new direction – a mobile delivery of food products to small remote settlements of Donbas on both sides on the contact line, where there is no possibility to open a fixed issuing point, but humanitarian aid is very much required. 12,738 civilians from small villages and settlements in ATO area, on the contact line and peaceful areas, where IDPs live, received their survival kits.

Aside from the adults, Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center is issuing children packages to families that have children under two years old. The packages are subdivided into two categories, depending on the child's age: from 0 to 1 year old, and from 1 to 2 years old. The packages contain vegetable and fruit purée, baby formula and porridges, semolina and oat flakes. Yesterday, on the 2nd of July, the Humanitarian Center's volunteers issued the 250,000th children package.

In June due to the escalated military conflict and closed checkpoint for crossing the contact line in Kurakhove, Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center couldn't fulfil the plan on food product delivery to Donetsk. Almost 240,000 of benefit-entitled adults and children under two years old couldn't be provided with aid. For the third week we manage to provide the essential aid only to Donetsk residents.

To refill the survival kit stocks in Donetsk logistic centre and resume the operation of issuing points in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center is planning to increase the intensity of supplies in July and getting ready to send two Humanitarian Aid Drives. This will help for deliver and form 450,000 survival kits for adults and 39,000 children packages for civilians in ATO area, people living on the contact line and internally displaced people that are staying in government-controlled areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
